For Patients

This area is designed to inform and educate patients on the best treatments available and information on what we do in the laboratory.

By working in partnership with your dentist we can produce the best available cosmetic restorations using the very latest systems and materials. Our aim is to provide the highest quality veneers, crowns, bridges and implant retained restorations that are durable, look great and are British made.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns

Crowns can be used to restore teeth that are heavily filled, discoloured, broken or crooked. Most of our crowns are made with porcelain to enable a very close colour match to existing teeth. A crown is used to entirely cover the damaged tooth and once restored can last for many years. Having a crown requires some preparation of the underlying tooth. On your first appointment the tooth will be shaped ready for the porcelain crown and whilst this is being made at the lab, a temporary one will be fitted. On your second appointment the crown will be fitted and you can then enjoy the results

Bridges

Bridges are used to fill in gaps and replace missing teeth. These are used as a very viable alternative to dentures if the surrounding teeth are strong enough to support the bridge. Bridges are attached to neighbouring teeth and just like crowns, are made from porcelain and colour matched to your existing teeth. They look very natural and make such a difference to your smile. We offer several types of bridges and your options will be fully discussed with your dentist.

Veneers

Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom made and bonded to your teeth. They can improve the appearance of stained, chipped or irregularly shaped teeth. Veneers are often shown on TV makeover programmes because they can completely transform your smile. They usually involve very minimal tooth reduction and are incredibly strong and durable. Our veneers are made with the finest materials and have a very natural appearance.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a permanent, natural replacement for one or more missing teeth. Also, if a tooth is badly decayed and cannot be repaired with a crown, your dentist can replace it with a strong, natural looking implant.

A small screw (implant) is inserted into the jawbone to serve as an artificial tooth root. Once the bone has integrated with the implant, your dentist can attach a custom made porcelain crown or bridge, effectively creating a new permanent tooth. We hold an outstanding level of knowledge on implant dentistry enabling us to assist with all levels of implant restoration cases. Whether you require a single gap filling or a whole mouth, implants are a great permanent alternative to premature tooth loss.

Visiting the Lab

1. Shade Taking or Colour Matching

Your dentist may arrange for you to visit the laboratory for a colour match.

This is when our highly trained dental technicians will carefully try to match the colour of your existing teeth to your new restoration. You will have the chance to discuss the colour, shape and size with the person who will be making your crown, bridge or implant. This helps us to know exactly what you are looking for and ensures we can achieve the best possible result for you.

The procedure is not painful and only takes 10-15 minutes.

2. Denture Repairs

We offer a denture repair service for members of the public directly.

Please call us first to book your repair in and where possible we will aim to do the repair within 3 hours.

A basic repair is £40.00 but more complex repairs may be more expensive. We will always quote for the work before we begin the repair.

Please call us on 01225 471061 to book in your repair.
